Functional Prototyping

The 3D printed Woosh dryer prototype uses parts from a broken vacuum cleaner, and control circuitry from an old coffee machine to fully function as a 500W hand dryer.

Sketch Models

The final form stemmed from a series of early cardboard models, each exploring the form and flow air takes when forced through different types of blower motors.

The final design follows the pathway of a turbine fan design.

From CAD to physical model in 3 days. Designed in Fusion 360, the model was printed on Bambulab P1S 3D printers, and finished with a multi-step automotive priming and painting process.

The final result snaps together with a reassuring click from printed latches at the parting line.
